Qu’Appelle Valley Road Trip

We will leave Regina via highway #1 and then drop down into the Qu’Appelle Valley stopping at the edge of the lakes for some shots to get the shutter buttons warmed up.

The routes take us along the north side of Echo Lake with frequent pulls outs to get pictures of the lake and the valley. Past Katepwa Lake we leave the pavement and head on to Fort Ellis Trail, a dirt road that is part of the Trans Canada Trail snakes along the valley floor providing tons of photo opportunities.

The route heads east along the river and then turns to the north. We will head to Ellisboro and spend some time photographing a couple of old churches, old town hall, abandoned house and cemetery. Just outside of town is another great stone bridge as well.

Leaving Ellisboro we head north to connect to highway #1 and make a stop in Wolseley to check out the lake and the towns swinging bridge.

Then it is time to hit the road and head back to Regina.

Stone bridges, steel bridges, old buildings, grain bins, river banks and many other beautiful spots await us. It is quite common to see deer, birds and bald eagles on this route.
